The First Frost: When Life Tells You To Slow Down 🌹
Winter Healing Series | Episode Notes
Recap of Episode One 📝✨↩️
Core Symbolism:
The rose senses the shift in temperature and begins to conserve energy.
Slowing down is hard to do, but that doesn’t mean we should neglect the pauses in life. As people, we are always on the go—always searching for the next opportunity, the next event, the next reason to either escape what we’re facing… or reward ourselves for each milestone we cross, taking life to the next level.
People can be ingenuine, neglecting to comfort you in times of need—and not always intentionally. Quite frankly, some individuals simply don’t understand how to carry your pain. With that said, it’s time to learn, grow, and HEAL ourselves by safely carrying our own. No one wants to harp on the past or sit with previous guilt and regrets. However, we must be willing to share our stories so future generations don’t repeat the same mistakes—or so they can, at the very least, learn from ours—making their existence safer, more creatively adept, and more graceful.
I have experienced a painful silence… one that suppressed my anger, sadness, and even my joy, all in an effort not to step on toes or cause harm. But life keeps lifing, and my lived experiences have given me a superpower: the courage to finally come forth and share my story.
The first frost is deeper than time slowing down. It’s the recognition that while roses don’t bloom in the winter, they shed, rest, root, and survive storms—hiding their strength but never their presence. Sometimes life requires us to remain dormant, waiting for that single spark or moment of opportunity to wake us up, help us grow, and cultivate change. Slowly and patiently, we turn a virtue into a value.
The best growth is the growth you have to wait and see. So while I hope you enjoy this episode, I leave you with this gentle reminder: slow down. Remember the people, places, and things that shape you, protect you, and help you never forget who you are.
Today’s Lesson:
You’re allowed to pause. You’re allowed to say, “this season feels heavy.” Similarly, you’re allowed to say, “no.”

Reflection
There is a quiet beauty in being still before The Most High—a sacred invitation to pause long enough for Spirit to speak, guide, and lead you into your next victory. Nothing in this life is meant to be effortlessly easy, yet you carry a power and strength that often reveals itself only in the silence. When you slow down, breathe, and surrender the urge to control everything, you create space for divine clarity to rise. Sometimes, the only way to return to your place of power, rest, and grounded truth is to simply be still… and remember WHO is carrying you, and what has already been placed within you.
Affirmation: Slowing down is not failure — it’s wisdom. ✨
And Always Remember: When life gives you thorns, search for roses. 🌹
